Tomorrow Should be Promised For Everyone: A Community Vigil for Renee Nicole Good & All Victims of ICE Violence

January 14 @ 7:00 pm

Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three, was killed by federal agents while monitoring an ICE operation in her neighborhood—an act of community defense that thousands of North Carolinians have bravely undertaken in recent months. And many of us are shaken, wondering, “What will happen the next time I answer a call?”

To mark one week since her death, we will gather to celebrate Renee’s life and remember the other victims of ICE violence nationally and here in our state, & reaffirm our intention to create communities where anyone can get to school and work safely.

And we will recognize that while a single agent pulled the trigger, this tragedy was enabled by a broader failure of leadership. No public safety officials – prosecutors and police at any level – have stepped in to investigate ICE violence, and NC GOP elected officials continue to applaud lawless tactics. We will demand accountability for this violence.

We’ll have a community altar. Bring notes, drawings, or wishes for the people suffering and your offerings to support those in elected office who choose to work for an end to impunity for federal agents.
